State Definition of Timely Manner for the Delivery of AIM to Students
The
Kentucky Post-Secondary Textbook Accessibility Act, Senate Bill 85 (SB 85), defines "timely" very specifically:
The publisher shall transmit or otherwise send an electronic format version of requested instructional material within fifteen (15) working days of receipt of an appropriately completed request. Should this timetable present an undue burden for a publisher, the publisher shall submit within the fifteen (15) working day period a statement to the requesting entity certifying the expected date for transmission or delivery of the file.
In the spirit of SB 85, Kentucky makes all reasonable efforts to deliver AIM to qualifying K12 students within fifteen working days of receipt of an appropriately completed request.
AIM-Related State Laws and Regulations
Accessibility statute (
KRS 156.027 [PDF format]) and regulation (
704 KAR 3:455) went into effect in July, 2003 and has impacted the 2004 and subsequent adoption cycles.
