ePUB for AIM

Accessibility Resources

Just as important as accessible reading hardware and software is accessibility and the web, documents, AIM, e-learning, assessments, applications, multimedia, meetings, survey tools, and more.

Hardware-Based Resources

These devices read (process) a variety of digital content, such as DAISY DTBs (digital talking books), ePUB, and HTML, etc. Many of them have additional features as well, such as support for images, Internet connectivity, text magnification, and more.

Software-Based Resources

Screenreader applications read aloud a variety of content formats via TTS, while other applications are designed for use with digital talking books. Other  programs facillitate the use and  management of digital libraries, convert files from one format to another, transfer files or e-books and related content between devices and accounts, etc.

History of the e-book

The e-book originated in the early 1970’s. Information about the history of the development of e-books is provided.
